Primary Assembly and House Dance

Our Primary Students were treated to some incredible dance performances on Wednesday morning, as their peers showcased their talents in the Primary Interhouse Dance competition.

This friendly competition brought together a team of students from each House, led by their peers from Secondary, who helped choreograph some fantastic moves. Our panel of judges provided feedback on a range of criteria from the timing and cohesion of the performance, to the crowd enagement and energy and determined that Red House were the overall victors. From the response of the crowd, however, it was clear that each performance was highly commendible and testament to some wonderful collaboration and outstanding talent.

This performance was part of a Primary assembly, which also acknowledged and thanked our teachers and EAs that are departing this year, and celebrated our Year 6 peers, who are transitioning to Secondary School. Many thanks to Mr Edwards and our technicians, Mr Tadeo and Ms Wong, who coordinated this celebratory event.

Year 6 Celebration Evening

The Year 6 Celebration Evening was a heartfelt occasion filled with joy and pride as we gathered to honor our remarkable students at the end of their primary school journey. It was a moment to reflect on their growth, achievements, and the memories created over the years.

We are incredibly proud of each child for their hard work, resilience, and dedication throughout their time in primary school. As they prepare to embark on new adventures, we look forward to watching them blossom into the unique individuals they are destined to become.

This evening was not just a celebration of their past, but also a hopeful glimpse into their bright futures. Congratulations to all our Year 6 students!

Agency in Action Expo Day Highlights: Inspiration, Creativity, and Achievement

On 19 June, the school community came together to celebrate our Agency in Action Expo Day, an inspiring showcase of student-driven learning projects and entrepreneurial initiatives.

This year, 64 student-led projects took center stage, covering a diverse range of interests: art and design, food and baking, coding and technology, sports and physical education, social causes, and music. The Expo served as a platform for students to explore their interests and demonstrate their creativity and initiative.

Adding to the day’s impact, students welcomed representatives from two local charities, The Women’s Foundation Hong Kong and Mother’s Choice, who shared their impactful missions and encouraged students to think about how they can support local communities.

In the afternoon, we saw entrepreneurial energy come to life, where 35 student-initiated companies displayed and sold their products and services. We invited the founders of Swap & Shop—Year 12 students Sophie Cheng, Ally Chan, Ava Yu, and Maya Hirsch—to speak to our students and inspire them with their commitment to sustainability and social entrepreneurship through their unique secondhand clothing business. After the talk, students visited various student ventures, exploring an array of creative business ideas.

The day concluded with an assembly to celebrate the students’ achievements and recognize outstanding projects. Here are some of the award highlights:

We saw the power of perseverance, innovation, and teamwork on display that day. While embarking on their projects, many students grappled with challenges—setting goals, planning effectively, and documenting their learning process. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Agency in Action teachers for their guidance, parents for their support, and students for their enthusiasm and hard work.

Year 11 Music Students shine in MYP Exhibition Jazz Concert

What an incredible evening of music we had as our Year 11 Music class presented their MYP Exhibition Jazz Concert! This concert was a celebration and culmination of their Jazz unit this term, showcasing their passion for music performance and their knowledge and understanding of Jazz styles,  improvisation and arranging.

The students selected the pieces they wanted to perform which included some well-known jazz standards such as "Blue Bossa," "Watermelon Man," "My Way," "Fly Me to the Moon," and "Now's the Time," each band delivering their own unique arrangements. The creativity and skill demonstrated in their improvisations was challenging but truly highlighted a fantastic year of musical growth.

Well done to the Year 11 musicians for their hard work, dedication, and fantastic performances! Your passion for music truly shone through, making this concert a memorable event for everyone who attended.

Year 4 Students participate in Science Lab Experiments

As part of their unit of inquiry into the fascinating world of energy within the 'How the World Works' curriculum, the Year 4 students took their learning beyond the classroom and into the lab. Under the guidance of Mr. Light, one of our Secondary Science teachers, along with his Year 11 students, the Year 4s participated in an engaging hands-on experiment to measure the energy content in food.

The students discussed various forms of energy and engaged in a hands-on experiment using burning potato chips and cheese puffs to heat water in a calorimeter. This exciting experiment enabled them to estimate the energy content of the food. They made predictions about which chip would produce the highest energy output and were delighted to discover the surprising results.

Thank you to the Year 4 students for their enthusiasm, and a special shout out to Mr. Light and his Year 11 work experience students for their invaluable support.

Year 10 Visual Arts Students Exhibition at the Foyer

This time, we invited students and teachers to share their interpretations of the artworks, highlighting our community to celebrate and embrace Visual Arts as a whole community. Additionally, Year 3 students created their own art pieces in response to the Year 10 exhibition.
