Leveraging Assessment Google Calendars: Time Management Tips for MYP Summative Success

Dear Students and Parents,

As we begin the new school year, mastering time management and organisation is essential for success in MYP Summative Assessments. The Assessment Google Calendars offer both students and parents a valuable resource by providing clear, accessible schedules customized for each year level:

We encourage students to sync these year-level calendars with their personal Google Calendars. This integration will aid in managing responsibilities and time efficiently, offering a clear overview of upcoming assessments throughout the year

Our dedicated teachers will continuously provide guidance to help students break down tasks and prepare effectively for assessments.

As the semester progresses, significant summative assessment tasks will be added to the calendars, ensuring students have ample time to prepare. To establish a strong foundation for managing stress and anxiety, we recommend the following time management strategies:

  • Create a Study Schedule: Early in the year, organize a study schedule that designates specific time slots for each subject and assessment task. This structured approach can help students manage their workload efficiently and avoid last-minute cramming.
  • Prioritize Tasks: Encourage students to prioritize tasks based on deadlines and importance. By breaking larger tasks into smaller, more manageable segments, the workload becomes less overwhelming.

By implementing these time management techniques and leveraging the assessment calendars effectively, students can approach their assessments with confidence and reduce unnecessary stress throughout the year. Wishing all students a successful and organized school year.

Year 12 24 Hour Play

Last weekend, our Year 12 DP Theatre students participated in the annual 24 Hour Play. Students started on Friday at 4:00pm with only a company name, play title and a poster design and performed their final piece at 4:00pm on Saturday to a very excited audience. Our DP students rose to the challenge and created a thought-provoking and visually stunning performance based on themes of isolation and accepting that our differences make us unique.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially being able to sleep at school for the night, which enabled important new bonds to be formed as they started their DP Theatre journey together. Congratulations to all involved, with a special thank you to Ms. Allen and Ms. Veilleux for their support and leadership of the event.
