As we’ve said in our communications throughout this week, thank you for your support and the effort you have made in keeping students connected through four days of online learning.
While we know everyone would prefer to be in school, we had to close our campus to all except for critical staff to ensure the repair work could be safely completed.
We have now removed a number of deflated pillows from the front of the roof area. Work will continue over the weekend to reinforce areas near the damage. As you can see, from the image below, this involves heavy machinery and cordoned-off spaces.
As this work wraps up, we will have a site visit from a structural engineer who will check other areas of the roof and sign off on our safe reopening. Assuming the checks all result in positive outcomes, we look forward to opening our doors again on Monday.
Thank you to the parents who have reached out with questions about whether we will adjust our calendar for the upcoming CPD days. We know many of you have scheduled family travel plans around our published calendar, and unfortunately, we are too close to the dates to be able to make changes to the scheduled programmes for the two October CPD days. However, you have likely seen the message from ESF CEO, Belinda Greer, which shares that discussions are taking place across ESF about whether any changes might be reasonably made to the calendar later in the academic year. We will, of course, update you as soon as possible if any decisions are made.
We hope that everyone has a restful weekend and that you are able to enjoy some sunny weather for a change! We look forward to welcoming you back into school on Monday.
