Discovery College has five houses, each made up of vertical groupings of staff and students across all year levels. Siblings are placed in the same house. The five houses are based on the five Chinese elements, namely:
Students engage in a variety of activities, including team-building challenges, academic competitions, sports events and creative projects, all designed to strengthen House spirit and camaraderie.
Through these activities, students develop essential skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. The friendly competition encourages them to strive for personal excellence while building lasting friendships across different year groups.
The House system also instills a strong sense of identity, as students take pride in representing their House. This connection fosters a supportive environment where everyone feels valued and included, enhancing their overall educational experience at Discovery College and a strong sense of belonging. By participating in House activities, students not only contribute to their House’s achievements but also grow as individuals ready to make a positive impact in the community.
